The J Balvin x Air Jordan 2 is a special collaboration between the popular recording artist and Jordan Brand on Michael Jordan’s second signature shoe. The J Balvin co-designed Jordan 2 celebrates the retro basketball shoe’s 35th anniversary in grand fashion, as the international reggaeton star and sneaker collaborator adds his unique touch to the model. Unlike any Air Jordan 2 colorway in the shoe’s existence, J Balvin’s version features a light blue ripstop nylon upper with rainbow contrast stitching along each panel. A light-up “Wings” logo can be found on the tongue. Both the heel overlay and inner lining are designed with a cloud pattern. J Balvin’s signature smiley face logo appears on the heel. AIR JORDAN 2 LOW – OG SP Off White Chicago
The Off-White x Air Jordan 2 Low OG “Chicago” is a collaboration between Virgil Abloh’s high fashion and streetwear brand and Jordan Brand on a vintage-inspired colorway of Michael Jordan’s second signature shoe. Off-White’s Air Jordan 2 Low honors the classic retro basketball shoe’s 35-year anniversary by reimagining the model’s original “Chicago” colorway in the brand’s popular “new-vintage” aesthetic. Modifications to the design of the Air Jordan 2 Low by Off-White include a pre-yellowed, pre-“cracked” midsole that replicates the look of crumbled soles associated with original 1987 pairs of the Jordan 2. The upper is constructed from white tumbled leather. Industrial-style Off-White branding is stamped onto the medial side of the shoe. Michael Jordan’s signature appears on the collar of the lateral side. Red “Wings” branding resides on the white leather tongue and Off-White’s signature “SHOELACES” detailing can be found on the black laces. The exposed foam padding found on the collar is consistent with the styling of Off-White’s Air Jordan collaborations. .
Air Jordan 2 Low – Shelflife
The Shelflife x Air Jordan 2 Low is a collaboration that pairs the South African retailer with Jordan Brand on Michael Jordan’s second signature shoe. Shelflife’s take on the classic basketball shoe is part of the Jordan 2’s 35th anniversary celebration, and is one of several popular colorways of the model to release in 2022. The shoe features a minimalist design that leans into its premium, Made in Italy origins with a unique combination of materials and colors. Specifically, the shoe features a cream suede overlay on the toe and forefoot that is matched with a tonal faux lizard-textured leather panel on the upper. Additional cream accenting can be found on the mudguard and on the semi-translucent heel counter. An orange “Wings” logo is embossed on the tongue. The Two 18 x Air Jordan 2 Low is a collaboration by the Detroit-based sneaker boutique on the low-top version of the retro basketball shoe. One of several Air Jordan 2 collaborations from 2022, Two 18 brings a lifestyle-focused, earth tone design to Michael Jordan’s second signature shoe. The upper is designed in tan nubuck with rust brown suede overlays on the lateral side and faux reptilian overlays on the medial side. Blue and red piping, a nod to the Detroit Pistons’ team uniform colors, is found along the both panels. A classic “Wings” logo can be found on the tongue and Two 18 branding appears on the insole. Air Jordan 2 Retro OG – Chicago 2022
The Air Jordan 2 OG “Chicago 2022” is the modern reissue of the original colorway of Michael Jordan’s second signature shoe. Following a handful of special collaborations by Off-White, Union, and many others, the Jordan 2 was officially back in a regular release cycle in late 2021 and throughout 2022. The return of the Jordan 2 “Chicago” is the proverbial “cherry on top” of all of the silhouette’s releases. Styled identically from the original Jordan 2 “Chicago” from 1986, the modern version features a white leather construction with perforated detailing on the forefoot. A tonal faux snakeskin overlay is found on the midfoot. Fiery red accents appear on the heel counter below a red “NIKE” logo. The Air Jordan 2’s classic “Wings” logo is found on the tongue.
